Cambodia Travel Diary
Created during a personal journey through Cambodia, this project marks the beginning of my exploration of stop-motion animation as a material practice. Combining travel sketches, painted paper, and a personal archive of emotionally significant memories, I experimented with animation as a way of translating lived experience through colour, gesture, and movement.
Rather than illustrating memories directly, the work allowed them to unfold through sequences of hand-painted images. Each frame preserves the material qualities of paint - its texture, opacity, and imperfections - transforming emotion into a slow, evolving visual language. Animation became not simply a technique for creating movement, but a way of thinking through painting, where memory, material, and time continuously shaped one another.
This early exploration laid the foundation for the animation methodology that later became central to my artistic research and participatory practice.
